Alex Scott became the first star to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity, but her partner sadly couldn’t be there to meet her on the bridge after her exit.

Pop sensation Jess Glynne has revealed the heart-wrenching reason she was unable to meet her partner on the ITV show, football legend Alex Scott, after her early exit from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2025.

The former England player, aged 41, shared a warm embrace with her campmates as they chanted her name, following the announcement that she had received the fewest votes and would be leaving the jungle.

During her two-week stint in the camp, Alex took part in a skydive from 12,000 feet and even braved a walk through animal entrails during the show’s challenging trials.

Glynne expressed her pride for her girlfriend’s accomplishments in an Instagram post, telling her followers she was “unbelievably proud” of her partner.

The Hold My Hand singer also disclosed that she couldn’t greet Alex on the iconic bridge due to her mother recently suffering a severe stroke and requiring emergency brain surgery.

In her social media post, she said: “My woman might be out far earlier than she deserved, but I’m so unbelievably proud of her. She didn’t get the airtime to show how incredible she really is and trust me, this is only the beginning.”

Jess further explained her absence from the bridge meeting, stating: “Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery. It’s been a really life-altering time for my family, and I’ve had to stay close to home.

“Alex would always want me to be where I’m needed most. I can’t wait to have her back by my side.”

The ex-Lioness was up for elimination alongside TV star Jack Osbourne, social media influencer Angryginge, rapper Aitch, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, model Kelly Brook and comedian Ruby Wax.

“My jungle experience has been a whole lot more than what I expected it to be,” Alex confessed on Friday’s episode of the ITV reality show.

“It’s been really special to connect with a group of people that have allowed me to just be me.”

Alex and Kelly, who had formed a close bond in camp, were the last two facing the public vote, reports the Daily Record.

This came after emotional farewell messages at the campsite, when Martin declared the show was the best thing he had done in years.

“The older I’ve got, the harder I find it to make new friends,” he admitted. “But what I think we have done and what we’ve created, is not just a friendship, but it’s a special bond that’s the most important for me that we did it together. It’s the best thing that I’ve done for years.”

Speaking to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly before crossing the departure bridge, Alex expressed her hope to see EastEnders actress Shona McGarty crowned as the Queen of the Jungle.

Alex stated: “I think Shona being named Queen of the Jungle, would just change her and give her the confidence to take on life.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
