Shoppers can save nearly £100 on iconic Dr Martens boots and accessories with discounts of up to 40% in the brand’s Black Friday sale
Black Friday has officially arrived, with our favourite high-street stores slashing prices to help shoppers snag a bargain ahead of the festive season. Dr Martens launched its sale a few days ago, and shoppers are rushing to take advantage of the Black Friday discounts, with up to 40% off its iconic footwear.
Whether you’re looking for a gift for a loved one or replacing boots that have seen better days, the brand is offering shoppers the chance to save nearly £100 on some pairs in its sale.
But it’s not just footwear that’s been discounted this Black Friday weekend; accessories are also included. For instance, fans of the brand can snap up items like this Leopard Print Hair-On Top Handle Bag, now reduced to £105 from £150.
For those in the market for a new pair of branded shoes, boots or sandals that are unmistakably Dr Martens, this sale is the perfect opportunity. But if you’re not too bothered about the Dr Martens branding, there are plenty of other shoe retailers whose Black Friday sales are now live.
Schuh has reduced prices on selected footwear, including the UGG Tazzelle in Chestnut, now £104.99 down from £145, whilst ASOS is offering up to 70% off, with major reductions on brands including adidas, Topshop, Glamorous and others.
Here are our Dr Martens top picks this Black Friday for those seeking shopping inspiration.
1460 Vegan Lace Up Boots – was £170, now £119
Nothing beats the brand’s iconic 1460 boot, and this vegan-friendly version in Oxford Rub Off (synthetic leather) high gloss is available with £51 off. The boots feature the signature eight eyelet fastening, black trims and laces, alongside the brand’s distinctive yellow welt stitching and heel loop for easy wear.
Available in a stunning cherry red shade, it offers a gentler alternative to the traditional black colourway and effortlessly adds an edgy touch to any ensemble. Praised as ‘unbeatable’ by brand devotees, one five-star customer enthused: “Absolutely fabulous, really comfortable and looks smarts with my jeans.”
A fellow shopper commented: “I love these boots they are so comfortable not hard to break in.”
A third shopper, who purchased a new pair to replace their worn-out shoes, commented: “Worn mine to the bitter end! Snow, mud, sand, jungle treks, desert treks, biking cross country, formal functions to gigs and raves. These have served me well! Super comfy and flexible, didn’t have to wear them in! . . . Only happy thing about chucking them is knowing I’m buying another pair.”
However, one customer found the material’s flexibility lacking, noting: “Looked lovely fit nice apart from rubbing back my ankles. Tried thick socks etc, but they are not leather much to hard on your legs.”
For shoppers less concerned about the vegan construction, the brand’s 1460 Smooth Leather Lace Up Boots are also reduced to £80 in the cream shade.
Zebzag Suede Casual Slingback Platform Mules – was £110, now £55
Customers have commended these shoes for being ‘so comfortable straight out of the box’ upon first wear, making them ideal for quick departures. Featuring an adjustable ankle strap that can be worn around the ankle or repositioned over the foot’s bridge to create sliders, the Zebzag mules are offered in seven colour options and sizes ranging from three to thirteen.
The footwear features a ‘hybrid air-cushioned sole that fuses featherweight EVA with rugged PVC’ and is crafted from lightweight, adaptable suede with an elegant finish.
Jetta Platform Boots – was £189, now £94
With half price off, this offer is definitely worth snapping up. Made with a zip fastening for convenient wear, a distinctively stacked grooved Quad sole and antique gold hardware, these Jetta boots make a bold fashion statement.
Available in white buttery Classic Pull Up leather, the footwear features the brand’s signature ankle tab and yellow stitching and have been praised for their ‘perfect fit’ and ‘super comfortable’ feel due to their ‘soft’ leather.
However, it’s worth noting that some customers have mentioned they’re not as true to size as anticipated, with one reviewer commenting: “I love the look and the chunkiness of these boots. Still breaking them in, which and experienced Doc wearer will know can take some time with a boot. I would say however that they are not true to size. I’ve been wearing a size UK 8 Doc for 15+ years and with the Jetta Sendal, the boot was too small.. I would say to anyone buying them to go to the store and try them on before you buy them, if you can.”
1460 Pascal Nappa Zip Boots – was £180, now £108
What makes these boots particularly appealing is their versatile two-in-one design. Whilst they appear to be a straightforward zip-front shoe with eyelet detail along the sides, the footwear can actually be secured in two different ways.
Either with its detachable laces, or via the zip running up the tongue. Constructed with nappa leather, the boots are ‘butter-soft to the touch’ and are designed on the ‘iconic Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole’.
Featuring a design similar to the iconic 1460 shoes, the key distinction is the absence of binding at the collar – and the zip front can be easily removed. With such an eye-catching design, it’s hardly surprising the boots have received glowing reviews from customers, who also rave about their instant comfort.
One customer commented: “Couldn’t love these Docs more! Very comfy, didn’t need to break in at all.
“Incredible boots, in love with them. Only took about two weeks to wear in and can tell they’ll be a favourite,” another noted. However, some buyers discovered the leather to be rather stiff, requiring a longer break-in period.
The recommendation is to initially wear several pairs of socks and thoroughly massage the leather so it warms up and becomes more supple gradually.
1461 Ambassador Soft Leather Oxford Shoes – was £140, now £98
A reimagined version of the label’s iconic 1461 Oxford shoes, this style has been crafted using Ambassador leather, which the company describes as ‘a tumbled material with an oiled finish and a soft handle that makes slipping into an Original Dr. Martens silhouette even easier’.
Boasting a textured matte appearance, these shoes are ideal for both professional and casual settings and are available in a ‘Cashew’ deep brown shade and in sizes three to 13. Reflecting this sentiment, one customer lauded the shoes with a five star review stating: “Perfect fit, leather so soft and no need to break them in really comfy shoes from Dr Martin yet again. If you need a new work or every day shoe these are the ones.”
Another customer commented: “A stylish comfortable shoe. Strong but soft leather that needs no breaking in. The shoes are a lovely warm chestnut colour.”
They did point out: “I am a size 6, usually a perfect fit in DMs, but these come up a tad larger. No problem as I bought these for winter wear with heavier socks.”
Worth bearing in mind when ordering.
