A police spokesperson said: “Damage was caused to the front door area. Graffiti was also discovered on a wall of the property.

“The occupant of the property was thankfully able to escape uninjured. However, we are treating this report as arson with intent to endanger life, and enquiries are ongoing today to determine a motive and who was involved.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious to make contact with us. We are especially appealing to anyone who may have seen a dark coloured car in the area around 10pm.

“We also want to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or other footage of the area to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1575 24/11/25.”

A report can also be made online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makear. Alternatively, information can be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
