Men armed with knife and hockey stick steal cash, phones and jewellery

Police said the occupants of the house were “left shaken by the ordeal”

Two men broke into a home and armed themselves with a knife and hockey stick before making off with a number of valuables.

PSNI are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary in Coleraine last night, Tuesday, November 18..

Detective Sergeant Higgins said: “It was reported shortly before 6pm on Tuesday, November 18, that two men had gained entry to a house in the Copse Close area. After entering the property, one of the men picked up a knife, while the other picked up a hockey stick.

“It was reported that a number of items were stolen, including mobile phones, a sum of cash and jewellery.

“The two men were both described as being aged in their 30s, approximately 5′ 11” tall and of heavy build. They were both described as being dressed in black with their faces covered. Thankfully, the occupants of the house were physically uninjured, but have been left shaken by the ordeal.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, or in the Bushmills Road or Cloyfin Road area, and saw any suspicious activity, or who might have any information which could assist, including any dashcam or other video footage, to get in touch.

“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 1222 of 18/11/25.”
