A closer look at the venue and location for Fortress Festival for those making 2026 their first experience..

Fortress is held at the Scarborough Spa; A Grade II listed Victorian-era multi-complex venue, situated on the North East Coast of England with stunning views of the surrounding coast, cliffs and medieval castle.

You will have access to multiple bars over the weekend, an in-venue restaurant, sun court area w/ food vendors, music market and main stage balcony seating (free to access).

We operate a three stage set-up; The Grand Hall main stage (Pictured below. Please note the seating is removed for Fortress), Ocean Room and a third seated theatre stage which plays host to a new dungeon synth line-up for the Sunday and our regular yearly forum on the Saturday. Our second and third stages are lower capacity than the main stage so we advise getting there in good time if there is a certain act you do not want to miss.

There are zero clashes between the Grand Hall main stage and Ocean Room over the weekend. There is 5 minutes between a band finishing on one stage and a band starting on the second stage. The dungeon synth acts performing on Sunday will unfortunately clash with Ocean Room bands.

Travel to and from Scarborough can be done at relative ease. Trains and buses run regularly from York to Scarborough. There is a 2-hour direct train from London to York.
