Police had been granted an additional 36 hours to question the pair
A man and woman have been charged with the murder of Barry Furfey in Lisburn on Monday.
42-year-old Mr Furfey was found seriously injured at an address in the Wardsborough Road area of the city in the early hours of Monday, 15 September, and later died in hospital from his injuries.
A 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested and have since been charged and will appear in court later today.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team investigating the murder of Barry Furfey in Lisburn have charged two people to court.
“A 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman are charged with murder and are expected to appear before Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 17. “As is usual procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
