Police are investigating after a masked gang got into a house but no one was injured and nothing was taken.
The incident happened in the Ulsterville Avenue area, off the Lisburn Road in South Belfast. One the gang was armed with a screwdriver, a PSNI statement says.
Detectives in Belfast, the statement added, are “appealing for witnesses after a report of an aggravated burglary in the south of the city on Friday, September 5”.
Detective Sergeant McCallum said: “It was reported that around 8.30pm, four men gained entry to a house in the Ulsterville Avenue area via a rear door. One of the suspects was armed with a screwdriver. They were all described as being dressed in dark-coloured clothing, with hoods and balaclavas.
“There have been no reports of any injuries, and nothing has been reported as stolen at this time, however the occupants have been left shaken by the ordeal.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Ulsterville Avenue, Ulsterville Place or Belgravia Avenue around the time of this incident, and noticed any suspicious persons or vehicles. We could also appeal to anyone with dashcam, CCTV or other video footage from this area to get in touch. The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 1566 of 5/9/25.”
