Tyson Fury has shared that he’s given football the boot in favour of horse racing these days.

The ex-heavyweight boxing champ enjoyed a day out at Cartmel races on Bank Holiday Monday, cheering on two of his own horses.

Fury’s Big Gypsy King finished fifth in the 2m1f juvenile hurdle, quite a distance behind the favourite Dignam.

Before the race, he and his manager Spencer Brown chatted about their growing love for horse racing, having recently expanded their stable with new thoroughbreds, reports the Irish Mirror.

Sporting sunglasses and a hat in the sweltering 25C heat, Fury confessed to Racing TV viewers that his allegiance to Manchester United and England has waned. The Red Devils are currently struggling, sitting 16th in the Premier League.

“I’m not a supporter of football really,” he admitted. “I used to support United but because they’re in the s*** now I’m no supporter of any football teams anymore.”

He also mentioned that England’s defeat to Iceland in the Euros back in 2016 was the final straw for him with football. Now, it’s all about horse racing excitement for Fury.

Moreover, Fury revealed he hasn’t been to see National League team Morecambe FC play, despite them being the local club near his residence. According to The Mirror, just yesterday, the two-time world champion sold a six-bedroom house with views of the bay for £700,000.

The property boasting “panoramic coastal views” was snapped up by Fury and his wife Paris back in 2015 for a tidy sum of £480,000.

Fury’s jaunt to Cartmel occurred mere weeks after he cheered on Big Gypsy King at Doncaster, racing on the flat under former trainer Oliver Cole.

Now, the filly is part of James Moffatt’s roster, alongside a couple of fresh faces they picked up at the sales.

Racing TV got the inside scoop from Brown who said: “We’ve got five horses together; we’ve got various Flat horses and three good jumps horses. She [Big Gypsy King] ran on the Flat at Doncaster two weeks ago in a 0-60 handicap, so we thought we’d give her a run out. She’s been jumping for three weeks.”
