EastEnders fans were sent into a frenzy as a brand new trailer was released, confirming the return of two legendary characters to Albert Square
The BBC has set EastEnders fans abuzz with a fresh trailer, confirming the comeback of two iconic characters.
Fans have been speculating about when Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) would be returning to the soap after her departure prior to Martin Fowler’s funeral.
It was revealed off-screen that she had travelled to Australia to visit Michelle Fowler, following her struggle with Martin’s demise.
Now, an exclusive trailer has verified that Sharon will soon be gracing our screens again, along with Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan). Zoe made an unexpected return to the soap earlier this year during Ben Wadey’s inaugural episode, but hastily retreated to Barcelona after a narrow escape with her mother Kat.
Alfie then embarked on a mission to locate her, but sadly came up short. However, it seems she’ll be making her way back to Albert Square shortly, much to the delight of fans.

In the trailer, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is seen applying her trademark red lipstick in the mirror, while her daughter Zoe emerges from a black cab, reports the Mirror.
Midway through, a brief clip shows Sharon under an umbrella with Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walter), and another features Freddie (Bobby Brazier) and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) sharing a laugh.
The drama escalates towards the end of the teaser, as Kat and Zoe finally confront each other, leaving Kat visibly shocked.
The precise date of their return remains unconfirmed, but with the release of a trailer, we can anticipate it to be in the very near future.
Fans are absolutely delighted to witness the pair returning to the Square, as they flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their excitement. “so much to unpack here, Zoe, SHARON, cinematic trailers being back,” wrote one thrilled viewer.

Alongside Sharon and Zoe’s comeback, the BBC soap has confirmed the return of several other iconic characters. Max Branning, Ben Mitchell, Stuart Highway and Anthony Trueman will all be making their way back to the Square in the near future.
