The actress has played Mandy Dingle on Emmerdale for 30 years.

Lisa Riley has teased a snippet of her life away from Emmerdale as she works on a new project.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 49, has been playing Mandy Dingle on the ITV soap for three decades.

However, she also works on other projects away from the soap and has recently been recording for a voiceover for a new Channel 5 show.

Alongside a selfie of her wearing headphones in a recording studio, grinning next to the microphone, Lisa wrote: “After a busy morning @emmerdale I have had the most wonderful afternoon in the recording booth @theotherplanetmedia with the lovely @maddiknibbs voicing the upcoming new series @boomcymru “SKIN A&E” look out for when it’s coming to @channel5_tv.”

During one of her announcement posts for a series in 2022, fans flocked to share their support for Lisa and the show.

“Good luck love you Lisa,” a third said, as another wrote: “Love this program x.”

This comes after Lisa recently reflected on her 30-year stint as Mandy, talking about her “iconic” character on Lorraine.

“She’s a joy, she’s fun, and as much as we have all the camp humour, and the daft and silly, she has a really big heart and she’s kept that all the way through.

“You don’t mess with her, she’s as loyal as they come.”

She went on: “We’ve had such wonderful emotional storylines and I think Emmerdale do that brilliantly, in that they choose the characters that are fun, and therefore when you do have the emotional stuff, people do sit up and listen.”

Talking about her early days as Mandy, Lisa revealed she was only due to air in one episode, but was called back.

“Here I am sat with you 30 years later, the memories go on because the scripts are there in the sense of… when there’s a lot of drama, with Mandy you can take a breath, because you know she’ll be a bit silly from all the drama going on.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX.
