Emmerdale villain Mackenzie Boyd is set to make a huge discovery in upcoming scenes which could see John Sugden’s world come crashing down
Emmerdale’s Lawrence Robb has revealed details about a forthcoming “critical moment” for his character Mackenzie Boyd as he uncovers something significant about John Sugden.
The village’s antagonist possesses something of a saviour complex, orchestrating dangerous scenarios before stepping in at the eleventh hour to play the hero.
Audiences know that Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) met his end at John’s hands last year, and he has since murdered his former fiancée Aidan Moore (Geoff Dignan) following his recovery from a coma.
In an attempt to conceal his actions, John allowed GP surgery patient Owen Michaels to perish and framed him for Nate’s death.

His extensive catalogue of offences has remained hidden thus far, but Mackenzie is poised to make a startling revelation in forthcoming episodes, reports Leeds Live.
Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) anxiety peaks when DC Cole requests a discussion regarding the inquiry into his son Nate’s killing.
Cain informs John (Oliver Farnworth) that fresh evidence has emerged in the probe into Nate’s murder, prompting a panicked John to rush off and process this development.
The police’s renewed questioning about Nate’s death rekindles the anguish felt by Cain and Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh).
Nevertheless, when the removal company representative arrives, Tracy becomes suspicious about Nate’s supposed relocation after showing him a photograph that he fails to recognise, whilst Mack stumbles upon evidence that transforms the entire situation.
Discussing the latest dramatic development, Lawrence remarked: “It changes the entire outlook entirely. It’s quite a critical moment for Mack.”
He described the pivotal scene as: “It is a mic drop moment. Suddenly Mack is like ‘Oh! you are actually…. I was right about you the whole time.'”.
When asked if the newfound evidence could spell trouble for his character, Lawrence confirmed: “One hundred percent yes. There’s no two ways about it. This evidence puts him in a dangerous position”.
He also hinted at the potential fallout, saying: “Look, there’s certainly a chance Mackenzie has the capability to bring John down.”
Lawrence teased the future of the storyline with: “If he does well that remains to be seen but there’s potentially a very bleak outcome on the horizon.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
