EastEnders star Max Bowden is set to reprise his role as Ben Mitchell later this year in scenes that will see him reunited with his on screen father Phil Mitchell
EastEnders icon Ben Mitchell is making a comeback to Walford and he’s not coming alone, the BBC soap has confirmed.
Max Bowden and Ricky Champ, who portrays Stuart Highway, will be reuniting as they both return to Albert Square later this Autumn for a brief appearance on the long-standing programme.
Ben and Stuart are set to return to Walford as the Highways prepare to bid farewell to Jonno, the father of Callum and Stuart.
However, with Callum Highway (Tony Clay) having recently had an affair with Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), and those feelings predicted to intensify, Ben might not find the happy family he left behind.

Although both characters are only returning for a brief period, with Ben on day release from prison and Stuart leading a life away from Walford with wife Raine Highway (Tanya Franks), one would expect smooth sailing. But this is Walford, where a lot can happen in a short span of time, reports the Daily Star.
Ben bid adieu to Walford in March 2024 after being arrested for credit fraud committed in America.
In 2023, Ben was in the US while his close friend Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) was battling brain cancer, with him trying to arrange life-saving treatment.
Sadly, as Ben returned to Walford, Lola passed away, leaving him heartbroken. However, while Ben was away, he committed fraud and the crime caught up with him back in London.
The character is currently serving a sentence in an American prison, but will be brought back to Walford in handcuffs for his father-in-law’s funeral.
EastEnders enthusiasts will remember Stuart’s entrance in May 2018 as a friend of Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer). However, in 2021, Stuart had a difficult fight with breast cancer and depression over several months.
Despite getting the all-clear from his doctor, Stuart was then faced with his distressing feelings about his baby son, Roland, who was born via surrogate by Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) in 2022.
As he struggled with his mental health, Stuart’s brother Callum and grandmother Vi (Gwen Taylor) were shocked to find out he was planning his own funeral.
In August 2022, Stuart and Rainie left Walford for a new beginning with their son Roland, hoping for a life away from the Square’s chaos.
Both Max and Ricky are presently filming their EastEnders scenes and will return to our screens later this year.
