Coronation Street has confirmed that a beloved character will be returning to the cobbles this autumn
A Coronation Street icon’s comeback has been confirmed for an “explosive” new Rovers storyline.
Beloved character Eva Price, portrayed by Catherine Tyldesley, is set to return to the cobbles this autumn as she takes over The Rovers Return with two fresh faces.
Catherine is currently shooting top secret scenes in Weatherfield, where she’s been joined by a pair of exciting new cast members.
Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn will be making their entrance alongside Catherine as Eva’s partner Ben Driscoll and his “interfering” mother, Maggie.
Aaron is most recognised for his role as Jamie McGuire in Shameless, and also starred in the 2018 biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody. Meanwhile, Pauline is known for her role as Yvonne Cotton in EastEnders, as well as appearances in Father Ted and Shameless, reports Leicestershire Live.

Eva and Ben will be unveiled to the residents as the new proprietors of the Rovers in October, putting Eva back behind the iconic bar for the first time since 2018.
She’ll be reunited with her sisters, Leanne and Toyah, as well as catching up with her old friends and neighbours, after previously leaving the street for a fresh start in France.
Also joining the cast will be Ben’s two sons and Eva’s daughter Suzie, who she had with Aidan Connor, who tragically took his own life in 2018.
The Price/Driscoll family are set to arrive in Weatherfield with “a bang and a suitcase full of secrets”.
“We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow,” Corrie producer Kate Brooks said in a statement.
“The Driscolls do not arrive quietly, so expect big drama, explosive secrets and raucous knees ups galore.
“To have actors of Catherine, Aaron and Pauline’s considerable calibre at the beating heart of this family is absolutely wonderful, and we can’t wait for you to get to know and fall in love with them as much as we have already done.”
Kate concluded: “Strap yourselves in, it’s going to be an exciting and eventful ride.”
Following her previous departure from the cobbles, Catherine went on to feature in numerous dramas, including Viewpoint, Suspicion and Scarborough.
Her latest role saw her portray Kate Woods in Channel 5 crime series The Good Ship Murder, appearing alongside her former Corrie co-star Shayne Ward.
Coronation Street airs at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV1 and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
