ITV’s daytime schedule shake-up will see major changes to show formats and running times in 2025
ITV’s daytime schedule is poised for a major transformation next year following a raft of announced changes.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that ITV’s daytime programming would undergo a significant overhaul, with Good Morning Britain being extended by 30 minutes to broadcast from 6am to 9.30am each day.
This adjustment also means Lorraine Kelly’s programme will be slashed in half.
Her show will now run from 9.30am until 10am, appearing on television for just 30 weeks annually – matching the reduced schedule for Loose Women.
Loose Women will maintain its 12.30pm to 1.30pm time slot but will only broadcast seasonally for 30 weeks per year, reports the Express.
With these sweeping ITV daytime modifications, numerous viewers have expressed concerns about potential alterations to the Loose Women presenting team.
Nevertheless, it has now been verified that the Loose Women panel will stay unchanged.
An ITV representative told The Sun: “We always said we valued the Loose Women and that we wouldn’t be changing the panel, so viewers can look forward to seeing the familiar line up in the New Year.”
This follows reports from an insider who told the publication: “It’s been a tense time since the changes were announced in May and everyone has felt on edge, like they’re singing for their supper. So it’s a relief that everyone will broadly remain.
“It’s true there will be less shifts to go around but there is no intention for the cast to lose any faces. There will be job cuts across the daytime teams but it will be through merging production teams, not touching talent, in regards to Loose Women.”
Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, acknowledged the impact of these changes on staff, stating: “I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition.”
He added: “Daytime has been a core element of ITV’s schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade.”
Loose Women continues to air on weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
