Belfast Collects is a new business behind running NI’s first-ever dedicated collectables shows

A unique Christmas market for those who love collectables is popping up next month.

Belfast Collects, founded by Ryan Murray, is a new collectables business behind running Northern Ireland’s first-ever dedicated collectables shows.

After gaining massive attention with his first event at Lavery’s Belfast back in September, Ryan wanted to build on that success to host a festive event where traders and collectors could find the perfect Christmas gifts.

Speaking to Belfast Live, Ryan said it was a lack of events across the country for collectors like himself that inspired him to host his first event and hope that other collectors would be interested in getting involved.

He said: “I am a long-time collector myself and felt there was a lack of events or even stores in NI for the collector community to enjoy so I created the Belfast Collects market to fill that gap.

“The first show was in September, where nearly 1,000 people turned up to enjoy the day. The show had 20 vendors involved from vintage Football shirts, Pokémon cards, trainers, board games and many more collectable items on offer.”

Ryan said he was “completely blown away” by the response to the first event and immediately got to planning round two – just in time for Christmas.

The Belfast Collects ‘Christmas Special’ takes place once again at Lavery’s Belfast on Sunday, December 7 from 1pm to 5pm.

Ryan continued: “Last show’s turnout was far far greater than was ever expected, which was very inspiring and motivating to make the show a constant fixture.

“It’s the first show of its kind in Belfast and has therefore attracted great interest from both vendors and customers – with over 50 vendor applicants for the upcoming show.”

Bigger and better for the Christmas event, the market will take over not only the beer garden and outdoor spaces in Lavery’s, stalls will also be hosted in the Woodworkers bar, offering toys, LEGO, comics and more.

Ryan added that this is only the beginning for Belfast Collects as he has four shows already booked in for 2026 and hopes he can make it a “mainstay in all collectors’ calendars.
