A man was left seriously injured after a group of masked men “smashed” their way into his home and attacked him with weapons, including a claw hammer.
Police are appealing for information following the attack which took place at a property in the Main Street area of Conlig, outside Newtownards, on Tuesday, November 25, at around 11.30pm.
It was reported that four masked men smashed the front door of the property as they forced their way inside and attacked the occupant with weapons. The victim suffered a number of serious injuries which include suspected fractures and open wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The four masked men have been described as being in their twenties and wearing all black and balaclavas.
Detective Sergeant Gray said: “We received a report just after 11.30pm that four masked men had forced their way into a residential property on Main Street by smashing the front door. They then attacked the occupant with weapons including a claw hammer.
“He sustained serious injuries including a number of suspected fractures and open wounds. He remains in hospital for treatment but, thankfully, the injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening at this time.
“The four men are described as being aged in their twenties, wearing all black and balaclavas.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen men matching this description in the area. We would also like to hear from anyone who may have relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage. The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 1675 25/11/25.”
