I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! bosses were forced to scrap Ant and Dec’s arrival plans at the last minute
ITV I’m A Celebrity producers were forced to cancel Ant and Dec’s planned helicopter arrival at the start of the new series due to adverse weather conditions.
The flight couldn’t be approved under stringent health and safety regulations – forcing the presenting pair to travel by car to greet the contestants.
Dec explained: “We had a chopper on the ground and basically it started raining and we couldn’t get in the chopper.” Ant quipped: “Health and safety gone mad.”
In previous series they’ve made their entrance via helicopter, or even speedboat. A source revealed: “They couldn’t take any chances.”
This year’s weather has been unpredictable with severe storms battering the camp on Sunday, followed by 30 degree temperatures on Monday.

An insider explained: “The very wet weather on Sunday, and the end of last week played havoc with the filming, as well as conditions in camp, with all the leeches and bugs coming out. But the weather then did a dramatic about-turn and was sizzling in the last 24hours. It’s the ideal temperature for lots of Jungle Shower action,” reports the Mirror.
Meanwhile, Kelly Brook promised at the weekend that she was prepared to strip off for the iconic Jungle shower. She urged I’m a Celebrity audiences to embrace her curves following online criticism about her physique.
She said: “Obviously, I am not a 20-year-old bikini model anymore. You know, life changes and your body changes. And I just hope people are accepting of me and how I look now, and not comparing me to how I used to look. You know, I am a very different person. I am older, but I am still strong and I am still fit, and that is the most important thing.”
Instead, she explained she had “embraced” her figure. “I feel really confident. I feel like my body is in good shape. I just feel great,” she says.
“I am 46, I embrace my curves. I embrace my body. I ran a marathon this year….so I am proud of that.”
Kelly has previously revealed nothing she’s ever experienced compares to this adventure. “I have never, ever been in the middle of a jungle, sleeping under the stars,” she says.
“I think it is going to be probably the most challenging thing I have ever done in my life… I have heard that it is life changing.”
She added: “I do not know who I am in there with yet but I am just hoping we just all have fun together.”
Kelly will celebrate her 47th birthday in camp, though she managed a small gathering before departing with her Heart Radio colleagues. “We had some drinks, and I got gifted a beautiful cake of my face, which was hilarious… So we had a little celebration before I left.”
One potential challenge for her in camp could be the mornings.
“I am not great in the mornings, and not having sugar, salt, coffee… that is going to be the biggest test,” she says. “I kept saying to myself every day, I am going to wean myself off the coffee in Australia.”
