Emmerdale fans were left stunned after a huge bombshell was dropped on Wednesday

*Warning – This article contains spoilers for Wednesday’s (November 12) episode of Emmerdale.*

Emmerdale fans will recall that Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) first appeared on our screens back in May, introduced as Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) secret half-brother.

Before his arrival, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) discovered a letter addressed to “The Family of Emma Barton”.

Loyal viewers of the ITV soap will remember that Moira was behind Emma’s (Gillian Kearney) demise in 2017 after the villain abducted her baby, Isaac.

Despite her apprehension, Moira informed Ross about the letter, leading him to arrange a meeting with Lewis.

However, he found it challenging to answer Lewis’s probing questions about their shared past without exposing the family secrets he had long kept hidden, reports the Daily Star.

Over recent months, the two have become closer and have even moved into Dale View together.

Lewis has been clear that he doesn’t know who his father is, but this might be set to change following a massive revelation in Wednesday’s (November 12) episode.

Today’s episode, now available to stream on ITVX, unfolds the story of Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) stint in prison, with several unexpected twists along the way.

Robert shared his prison experiences with his sister, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), and his ex, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), through a series of flashbacks.

Meanwhile, his prison husband Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) had a conversation with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) at the café, after the GP discovered that he was lying about having a terminal condition.

However, that’s not Kev’s only hidden truth. “I lie about stuff all the time. I lie about not having a kid all the time,” he confessed.

“[I’ve got] a son. I don’t want people thinking bad of me for never bothering with him. I never asked to have him. Had a crazy one-nighter with a barmaid in Leeds and suddenly bang, there’s a baby.”

Kev went on: “[The mother] put him up for adoption as soon as he was born. Emma something, right fruit loop. I think she got herself murdered a few years ago,” whilst Lewis was wiping down the table before him.

Emmerdale viewers were stunned after the revelation, with one person posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Omg what a twist! Lewis is Kev’s son!”

Someone else commented: “Certainly wasn’t expecting that plot twist, WILD,” whilst another remarked: “Aww, poor Lewis with all he’s been through in his life, and now we find out he was born to two unhinged parents.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
