Netflix viewers have been left calling for a second season of the “amazing” coming-of-age series and praising one of the show’s stars in particular.

A new TV series focusing on the US navy has gripped Netflix audiences, with viewers hailing the “brilliant” coming-of-age drama and pleading for another season. Boots, which launched on the streaming service earlier this month, draws from the real-life experiences detailed in former US Marine Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine.

The official description states: “Bullied gay teen Cameron joins the Marine Corps with his best friend despite risks. In boot camp they experience profound personal change amid danger, as their platoon confronts both literal and figurative landmines.”

What Netflix audiences might not know is that one of the programme’s leads actually began his career on a British soap, Emmerdale.

Kieron Moore, who plays Nicholas Slovacek in the comedy-drama, is listed as having portrayed a character named Nav in the ITV programme back in 2019, reports the Daily Star.

Following that appearance, the performer has taken on smaller roles in additional Netflix productions including Sex Education and The Sandman before securing his first significant part in 2022 as Dimitri Belikov in Vampire Academy.

Alongside his role in Boots, he also featured on television as Liam Barlow in Code of Silence earlier this year.

Turning to X, the site previously called Twitter, Netflix enthusiasts shared their admiration for Kieron’s work in the new programme Boots.

“Kieron Moore from Boots, I need him,” one posted, whilst another confessed: “Wtf kieron moore??? This man is too fine.”

“Max Parker and Kieron Moore working together again, yes,” a third praised. “I was the one who asked for it! I love them so much. Go watch Boots on Netflix.”

Another viewer confessed: “Boots on netflix is really something how i wish they showed more of kieron moore.”
