A former McDonald’s employee has weighed in on the issue, saying it’s all too much
A McDonald’s worker has revealed a drive-thru customer habit that could result in them being accidentally overlooked.
The staff member, going by @maccaworkaddict on TikTok, criticised this frequent behaviour as “rude”.
She’s filmed dancing in her video with text displayed above reading: “You can’t keep ignoring the car in the drive-thru because they screamed hello as soon as they get there.”
It appears workers receive an alert notification whenever a car arrives at their window.
The Tiktok received mixed reactions, with some supporting her while others criticising her.
Nevertheless, she swiftly clarified in her posts that it was meant in jest and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
She also provided advice for customers waiting unacknowledged at the speaker – feel free to politely get the staff’s attention.
One follower commented below the video, “How about just saying, ‘One second, I’ll be right with you’? I say hello because I don’t know if they know I’m there.”
Another fast-food worker disclosed a cheeky strategy: “Each time they say hello I make them wait another 10 seconds lol.”
Meanwhile, a former Burger King employee shared similar experiences: “I hated this working at Burger King especially when this customer be out there sitting there yelling soon as I put the headset on.”
Another expressed their sympathy: “I relate wholeheartedly. I do this, or immediately reply, ‘Yes, How Can I Help You? !’ indicating my annoyance.”
McDonald’s have been contacted for comment.
A former McDonald’s chef has revealed how to recreate the iconic Big Mac sauce at home. Mike Haracz, who served as the fast-food giant’s corporate chef until 2019, has been sharing his insider tips on TikTok, including the recipe for the famous sauce.
In one of his highlighted videos, he announces: “]Chef Mike here, former corporate chef for McDonald’s, and I am going to give you my recipe on how to make Big Mac sauce at home.[” To kick things off, Chef Mike mixes one cup of mayonnaise, a quarter cup of sweet pickle relish, two tablespoons of Dusseldorf mustard, and one teaspoon of white wine vinegar in a bowl.
Next up, he adds one and a quarter teaspoons of paprika, one teaspoon of onion powder, one teaspoon of granulated garlic, and an eighth of a teaspoon of white pepper. He explains: “]All you’ve got to do is mix it all together. As you can see, there’s no ketchup in this recipe. The colour you get from Big Mac sauce is just from paprika. You’re going to let this sit for half an hour before trying. This is as close as you are going to get.”
