Police in Derry say their enquiries are continuing after “extensive” checks followed reports of a suspicious male on Monday morning.
Drumahoe Primary School was “secured” with a significant police presence in the area, just outside Derry city in the Waterside.
The school confirmed that all children were safe. Belfast Live understands there were unconfirmed reports of a male with a machete in the area.

The PSNI confirmed it had received “a report of a suspicious male” in the Glenshane Road area.
In a message to parents, Drumahoe Primary School said: “We have been made aware of an incident within the village and as a precaution we have secured the school site and all children are safe.”
A spokesperson for the PSNI has said: “Police received a report of a suspicious male at the Glenshane Road area of Derry / Londonderry area shortly before 11am on Monday 22 nd September. Officers attended and conducted extensive checks, with no further reports received in relation to this matter.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances and police would appeal to anyone with any information, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 428 22/09/25.”
